SOGo 6 - Authentication Settings (Domain Settings)

Here you setup how a user can login into SOGo.

Be careful, this step basically say to SGOGo that the person with uid sogo-tests1 or the mail sogo-tests1@example.org is legit and can access to data from sogo-tests1 or the mail sogo-tests1@example.org from the User Sources and External Services.

Type of Authentication

This is the most important setting.

  • SOGO_D_AUTH_TYPE: a string, one of:

    • plain: Means the User login with one username/mail/uid and a password. You must set a User Source that can macth the credentials.

    • openid: Not Implemented yet

    • cas: Not Implemented yet

    • saml2: Not Implemented yet

Plain

While using plain authentication, you can use these folowwing settings:

Passwords settings

  • SOGO_D_PWD_CHANGE_ENABLED (NOT IMPLEMENTED): boolean, default to False. Allow users to change their password via SOGo.

With ldap user sources, your users or admin bind must have the right to modify the password.

  • SOGO_D_PWD_RECOVERY (NOT IMPLEMENTED): boolean, default to True. Allow Users to set a password recover method)

With ldap user sources, your users or admin bind must have the right to modify the password.

  • SOGO_D_PWD_RECOVERY_METHOD (NOT IMPLEMENTED): a list of string. Setup what kinf of password recovery the users can set. For now, a choice between:

Some admin tools:

  • SOGO_D_PWD_RECOVERY_FORCE (NOT IMPLEMENTED): a boolean, default to False. Force use to set up a password recovery method (Force means := if the user login via SOGo , it will have a view to setup this before accessing its mails. If they use Outlook/Thunderbird, nothing happend.)

  • SOGO_D_PWD_RECOVERY_DELAY (NOT IMPLEMENTED): a integer greater than 0, default to 86400 (24 hours): Means how often a user can ask for their recovery method during this interval, in seconds.

With default value 86400, it means a user can only ask for password recovery once a day.

You can set a login check protection. Meaning you can say that, if a user try to login with username sogo@sogo.nu for A times, during a B spantime, this user will be block for C minutes. (NOT IMPLEMENTED)

  • SOGO_D_LOGIN_CHECK_MAX_ATTEMPT: integer, default to 0. The number of attempt the user can do. 0 means not limit.

  • SOGO_D_LOGIN_CHECK_TIME_SPAN: integer default to 600. The timespan where the user will reach SOGO_D_LOGIN_CHECK_MAX_ATTEMPT in seconds
