Summary0001883: broken threading, only based on Subject not In-Reply-To
Description

Sorting messages by threads is broken in sogo's Mail component, as it seems to be based only on the subject.

Sending two completely unrelated emails with e.g. the subject "Test" will show them in a single thread. When determining which emails to show in a thread, sogo should (also) use the In-Reply-To header. [1] might be of interest.

Can reproduce with 2.0.7 - not sure if Subject is the only source of threadsorting, but Mails with same Subjects get grouped. Imho this should be at least disableable.

What's your IMAP server?

SOGo uses the "references" algorithm but SOPE will fallback to the "ordered subject" algorithm if the references algorithm is not supported by the IMAP server. Look for "No support for THREAD" in your log file.

In my case, it is an dovecot2. Logfiles do not say anything about "No support for THREAD". I think SOGo uses References, but Grouping of Subjects too (altrough threading by mailserver does work).

The threading mode in v3 is set to be "rewritten" - conversations will be presented differently than Thunderbird/SOGo v2 - it'll be more like Google's Inbox.
