Summary | 0001645: Thunderbird 10.0 with Sogo Connector does not synchronize
Description | I can add the addressbook of a MacOS 10 Addressbook server to Thunderbird 10 via Carddav but the synchronization does not work. The Error Console includes the following error message after pressing the button for the carddav addressbook: Fehler: An error occurred updating the cmd_delete command: [Exception... "'[JavaScript Error: "cards[i] is null" {file: "chrome://messenger/content/addressbook/abResultsPane.js" line: 156}]' when calling method: [nsIController::isCommandEnabled]" nsresult: "0x80570021 (NS_ERROR_XPC_JAVASCRIPT_ERROR_WITH_DETAILS)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/globalOverlay.js :: goUpdateCommand :: line 80" data: yes]

The reason why the synchronisation does not occur at startup is because Thunderbird 10 has not yet setup some objects at that point. We still have to find a good way of trapping this, probably via a hack. Meanwhile, you can still synchronise your addressbooks manuyally via the synchronise button. If that button is not visible, you may add it by reconfiguring the toolbar in the addressbook. |
2-Effects: -1- The error message does not appear after startup, it appears in the error console after open the address book window and select the carddav adressbook defined before. -2- Using the synchronize button does nothing so my first thaught was that the error in -1- prevents that the synchronization will be done .... |

Can you enable browser.dom.window.dump.enabled in the configuration and restart Thunderbird from the command-line to see if you can see any error showing up? During a normal startup sequence, you should see something like this: If this does not show dyring startup, please check also when synchronising manually... |
Thanks for the very quick response, but I need some advice how to do that. In my thunderbird there is no variable browser.dom.window.dump.enabled Howto enable that? |
Open "about:config" by klicking on button "Config editor..." under "Edit" --> "Preferences" --> "Advanced" --> "General". Then right click on the list and choose "New >" --> "Boolean". |
No errors showing on startup but I think I do something wrong because there are no messages at all on the command line. So let us discuss if I made it right: -1- I defined the variable browser.dom.window.dump.enabled with value true => No error messages or other information is shown in the cmd window => Do I make a mistake or is it only possible under a shell in linux ? |
Ah, from Windows, you need to launch thunderbird with "-console". |
no change and no additional information what is the mistake? |
I tried to start thunderbird in a console which has administrator rights => same behavior. What I see is that a window is coming up and closes very fast (the console window?). Also redirecting it to a file in the tmp directory. the file has no entries ... |
First the good news: The bad news: Hope this helps solving the issue ... |
Sorry forgot something: The error console has the following entries after startup of thunderbird: Warnung: Fehler beim Verarbeiten des Wertes für 'clip'. Deklaration ignoriert. Fehler: Gloda.myContact is null 2012-02-24 11:37:50 gloda.ds.qfq ERROR Exception: TypeError: Gloda.myContact is null Fehler: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIMsgSendLater.hasUnsentMessages]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/mail-offline.js :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 81" data: no] |
If I synchronize the not working address book and look to the server log, I can see that there was a contact between sogo and the server but nothing more. The server log has an entry for ...PROPFIND... Hope this helps ... |
I made a full new installation on another windows pc and the problem remains! |
I tested it today with Thunderbird 15.0 and SoGo Connector 10.0.3 and get the following error in the error consol Zeitstempel: 06.09.2012 14:21:51 It occurs on a Windows7 as well as on a Mac OS X Lion Computer The problem remains! |
Any hope that someone will have a look to that? |
SOGo Connector 10 is to be used with TB 10 ESR, not TB15. Try with TB17 ESR or even with TB24 with the latest extensions. |
