Addenum: We would like to have an option to import and (possibly) accept invitations that have reached the recipient via an alias address or similar. Thank you very much.
Or is there still an option to configure this behaviour?

SOGo must known the mail aliases of the users. Make sure your user source fetches the mail aliases. You will likely need to define MailFieldNames (see documentation).

Actually the main use case for us are invitations sent to mailing lists which some of our users are subscribed to. In this case, it is not possible to add them to SOGos source of mail aliases.

In this case, SOGo should at least provide the option to add the event to the calendar (accept / decline / ... buttons aren't necessary). Maybe this should be the case for any .ics attachment like in most other mail tools too?

We have basically the same issue. Using MailFieldNames does not work for SQL based user source except with kind of hacking around it / using non common SQL techniques, or am I wrong?

We would have to build something like a pivot SQL table to have a column for each mail address of a user, right?
