Description

Hi,

Whenever we update sogo every time Filters and Vacation scripts stops working. Behavior is very bad like if we delete all filters then also new emails works as filters are enabled. Example. If there is a filter where from someone's email should go into separate folder. And when we delete same filter still sogo routes emails to separate folder instead of sending it to INBOX.

The same is happening with Vacation Response. New update does not allow selecting older/earlier dates in FROM field. If we disable Vacation response then also users receives Vacation response emails.

Tried restarting sogo service but issue is same. But when I disable and restart sogo service one by one in sogo.conf filters and vacation response works fine.

I am unsure, if I get your problem.
First you say that filters don't work, then you describe filters moving incoming emails into subfolders.
The latter means filters are working?!?

In your example you describe someone changing his settings after upgrade.
Do you mean, that you can not change filters after upgrade of SOGo?

Do you have SOGoSieveFolderEncoding and/or SOGoSieveFilters set in sogo.conf?

Do you have the correct SIEVE admin credentials in /etc/sogo/sieve.creds ?

Do you get error messages in your SOGo log?

Hi Christian,

I have following configured in sogo.conf. Also added SOGoSieveFilters which was not earlier in sogo config. It seems filters have started working now.

SOGoSieveServer = sieve://127.0.0.1:4190;
SOGoSieveScriptsEnabled = YES;
SOGoVacationEnabled = YES;
SOGoForwardEnabled = YES;
SOGoSieveFilters = YES;  <--- Added new parameter as you suggested
SOGoSieveFolderEncoding = UTF-8;

yes sieve.creds has correct credentials due to which I can see sogo.sieve file is automatically created / deleted when I set / unset acation response.

However if we disable vacation response there is one file dovecot.svbin does not get deleted, hope this will be default behavior of dovecot.

SOGo webmail allows setting up "Days between responses" setting starting from 1 day due to which vacation response is not being sent if first vacation response has been sent. Can this be changed if want to use sieve vacation extension?

Or if we can force or enable Auto response to every emails that are being received only TO original sender, that will be helpful. Moreover in vacation response sogo does not allow setting TIME along with date. Can you guide any settings where we can enable time also?

Hi Christian,

Today automated email of sogo-tool update-autoreply email shows following entry:

<0x0x1566cd0[SOGoUserDefaults]> expected an NSArray for 'SOGoSieveFilters' (ignored)

Do we need to do anything to it?

SOGoSieveFilters is not a binary option.
It is used to predefine SIEVE rules for every user.
See https://sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html#_web_interface_configuration

Therefore you either have to remove it, or use the correct syntax.
You can see the syntax in the backups made by sogo-tool.

Received new sogo update.

Now if we go into preferences/vacation and enable vacation response. When we select Enable Auto Reply on field, it does not allow selection of previous dates and other Preferences menus gets disabled.

yes dates in past. Just received new update but still it does not allow setting up previous date in the past to be selected on Enable Auto reply on.

We setup vacation response for our users manually using sogo as we do not allow majority of users webmail. We receive requests of vacation via email, however when one of my administrator forget to setup vacation response today he will try adding the same tomorrow.
