Summary0003084: Update of an existing contact does not work. The notification dialog shows always a failue.
Description

In Thunderbird 31.4.0 with Lightning 3.3.3 and Inverse SoGo Connector 31.0.1 updating of an existing contact in the addressbook does not work.

Creating a new contact or deleting an existing contact is working as expected and these changes show up on my android smartphone.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Create a new contact in TB in the configured addressbook with just
    test as first name and test as last name

  2. Save the contact ==> it will be successfully synchronized to my CardDAV server then to my android smartphone

  3. Enter now a nickname or a phone number (it does not matter which change) to this newly created contact "test test"

  4. Wait for the automatic sync or start the manual sync

  5. The notification dialog in the address book shows up with an failure and my contact on the smartphone is updated

Additional Information

The backend server is a CardDav Server on NAS Synology 215j.

This happens to me too. Looked at CardDAV URL on my server and found that offending item has a filename UID mis-match
..../xxxx-xxxx-xxx.vcf
inside this file:
UID:yyyy-yyyy-yyy

The ones that work the UID matches the .vcf name.

The ones that do not work were copied from another address book (one imported from google as a.vcf file)

There is a typing error in step 5 under section "Steps to Reproduce".

  1. The notification dialog in the address book shows up with an failure and my contact on the smartphone is NOT updated

Remark:

The word "NOT" was missing between "..is updated.."
