Summary0001972: SOGo appliance RC5 doesn' t automatically push out / load new messages to MS OL Inbox folder.
Description

Speech is about MS Outlook as client, with Web GUI works according to parameter SOGOMailMessageCheck is set up.

At the moment for RC5 I send e-mail from myself to myself, and I can see only it in Inbox as new, if I go to other mail folder and then return to Inbox, but
in condition of during in 30 - 60 seconds after e-mail sent, if I do so after minutes I can' t see new e-mail in such way (go to other folder & return back)
and can see new e-mail after pressing for “Update folder” button sited at Inbox, the same situation for incoming mail from other senders, if somebody sends
me e-mail and I can see it only after pressing for “Update folder” at Inbox.
me e-mail and tell me that he has done it I can see it by moving through folders (i described above, but up to about 60 seconds) , if I haven' t done so I
can see the e-mail only after pressing for “Update folder” at Inbox.

At the same time when I see at the Inbox folder synchronization property and open synchronization sheet, I can see that there are for example 5 messages
locally and 8 messages at the server. That is MS Outlook displays right messages quantity at server side but doesn' t load it automatically or appliance
doesn' t make some messages pushing also automatically, only manually.

For Sent folder is allright, synchronization works and the same message quantity are displayed at Sent folder sych property.

The same situation is with ZEG RC5.

I have decided to post it as bug, because I have installed Virtual Machine, Exchange 2007 to it and looked at the situation with default MS Outlook 2010
settimgs.
So, but it works fine in the case. Messages are pushed out from server and delivered / loaded to MS Outlook and displayed after 10 - 15 seconds (as I read
about synchronization period of Exchange+MS Outlook at Internet) .

'Automatically detect connection state' is set up in MS Outlook profile.

As a result, user has to, not must remember that if his / she wants to see at new incoming e-mail, he / she every time wants, has to press to "Update folder"
button sited at Inbox folder.

There is no any Samba4 crashes, but if it is necassary I can send log.

This issue is repeated with 4145 Openchange version and 053b5d33cbcf453e7c7216c0b2a168a0f0ffa0d5 or a little bit later SOPE/SOGo version.

Does this still occur with SOGo 2.0 final? Of course, you need to refresh your profile entirely to test this.

Unfortunatelly, yes, it is still there.
And it is why I can' t launch full testing of mail, including using testing of users.
I completely remove Samba4, Openchange, SOPE, SOGo and SOGo plugin, then downloaded Samba 4 rc1, and the latest Git Openchange, SOPE, SOGo and SOGo plugin versions and installed it.
And it is not matter wether it first message or not, it is not appeared in Inbox before pressing sycn button or restarting MS Outlook (close and run again) .

Ok... the problem is that you cannot see emails that you sent to yourself right-away, right? Or is it that some messages are missing?

Not.
Any massages, not from myself only.
I tried to send from my other mail from web interface, for example from Gmail web. And my friends tried to do so from their mailboxes.
At the moment I have tuned Exim to send messages outside, to external domains and catch messages sent from outside, from external.
And I couldn' t see it in Inbox before ...
I wrote before what.
And not right away, I cannot see it and after 1 minue, and after 5 minutes and after 10 minutes.
I didn' t test longer time period.

Please try after performing those steps:

ensure outlook and samba are shutdown
remove all tables named socfs_* from database
remove openchange.ldb file
rerun openchange_provision --openchangedb
create a new profile from Outlook

I will try so way.
But, Wolfhang, have you changed some far from 2.0.1 to the current git version ?
Because I tried to build as Samba4 as Openchange as SOPE/SOGo/plugin from sources from the scratch and there was still (in 2.0.1 and just next some git version) .

Hi, again.
I have tried 2.0.2a, there are not any changes.
I have still to go away from "Inbox" and go back during some minutes or after that time have to press "Synchronize" button only to see fresh message in "Inbox" folder.
In other case push out from appliance to MS OL is not worked at this time.

It is with MS OL 2010 at least.
Is there any news regarding this issue ?

I can confirm that this bug exist in latest git version of SOGo.

I must change my folder and go back to view my new arrival mail.

I'm using Outlook 2010 for the test.
