Summary | 0001591: ZEG: eth0 doesn't come up
Description | At first boot the default network interface came up as eth3, yet the /etc/network/interfaces file is hardcoded at eth0. The welcome message advertises an IP address although none has been obtained in DHCP. It seems when shutting down the ZEG the welcome message persists and will always indicated the last obtained IP address (in this case, the one last obtained at Inverse). A persistent rule based on the MAC address (which has changed as testers import this VM in their environment) prevents eth0 from coming up. /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules should be deleted and the welcome message should be reset before shipping the ZEG. Workaround:

the issue where you require to sudo rm /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules is quite common when using virtaulisation I've found.. Still you're right for A ZEG it should 'just work' |
|
Likely a "packaging" mistake because we usually do that just before releasing the VM. |
